Surgery day is here.
After 17 minutes of sleep last night, surgery day is finally here. We arrived at the hospital at 5:45 a.m.,and after a quick registration and pre-op, she entered the O.R. at 7:27 a.m. The first incision was made at 8:12 a.m. Our 12 hour adventure has officially begun. I am anxiously waiting in the family waiting room with Jen’s parents (Keith, Karen and Duane). The hospital has obviously done this before. They have a “jumbotron” on the wall that allows families to track the progress of the surgery. There were some humorous moments this morning too, but I’ll let her fill you in on those. Just remember to ask her about doctor “McDreamier”.

Dan, thank you so much for the update. It is very much appreciated!!! I'm glad you were able to get a little sleep last night. :) And I can't wait to hear about Dr. McDreamier!! My dad had Dr. Handsome and I always had a lot of questions for him .... actually, I wanted to make sure I had his undivided attention for at least 2 minutes. :)
ReplyDeleteHang in there!!! We're all thinking of you and Jen and praying for a very uneventful surgery. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDarn you Dan - I don't even know you and you are making me laugh and cry at the same time! You guys have the best attitude through all of this! Thank you for the update - we are praying here through the laughs and tears! God Bless and keep us updated! Kim
ReplyDeleteWell, I've never met either of you - but I was once a part of the M2M group and I know how special those women are. I am so thankful that Jen knows them too. They are an amazing blessing. I may be over in England where I can't hang out with M2M anymore - but I still know what's going on and I know they are all praying for her today and so am I. I've enjoyed reading this blog, you've made me laugh, you've brought tears to my eyes, and most of all you've allowed me to know you - just a bit. What an amazing attitude you have. I know God is with you and your family today and I pray for a speady recovery. God Bless you all.

Dan, Jenny & family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today and in the coming weeks, Jenny's faith is so strong and she is such an inspritation to those of us who are blessed to be a part (no matter how small) of her life. We are so grateful that you guys are sharing this amazing journey with us, We never know what life is going to bring us, but we do know that we never have to travel that road alone, God promises us that he will never leave us or forsake us, if we believe in him. Prayer changes things. God Bless you all and thank you Dan for the love and care you give to Jenny, its so good to know that she has such a great support system. Love to all. Elsa
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for Jen and Dan, their children, their family and her doctors. I heard a song on K-Love this morning sung by Matthew West that he just wrote for an amazing couple in PA. The whole time they were talking about this couple, I was thinking about Jen and her husband. I cried throughout the whole song. Anyone who heard it will know exactly what I'm talking about. There was no coincidence that this song was heard and played on this day, at that time (around 9am). I think the song is called Hold You Up - It touched my heart like no other song. There is no doubt that Jen is in God's hands, the safest hands to be in. God Bless you all.
