Good morning all! Wow what an amazing group of people we have in our lives. You all rock and God heard ALL of those prayers, yippee!
First, before I go any further, I have to give my husband some serious recognition for taking care of my journal. He did a great job...jokes and all! Laughing is the best medicine and if it helped any of you during the waiting I'm sure it was doing the same or more for him. I know it helped me.
He is quite amazing that man of mine. I owe him big. Not only doing an awesome job on the journal, he traveled back in forth, stayed with the kids or at least made sure they were all taking care of and then took care of me. I couldn't ask for a better caregiver, best friend, father to our children and husband. Thank you Dan...you are the best!
As a warning...I'm sure he will sign off of this journal at some point and just know that I have NO control over him and what he might say, lol!
Back to you all...thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. The prayers, the visits, the comments, the support, the meals (I hear my family is being fed very well), the cards and much, much more! You all are the best support group a gal and family could have and I could never express how much you all truly mean to me. You are truly children of God watching over me and my family through his callings and we couldn't be more blessed. Okay I'm starting to cry so I need to move on.
I feel great and I must say, I look pretty darn good even with this head dressing thing on. It is starting to bother me some but I believe I get it off on Wednesday then I'll get to see how much hair is missing : )! Nothing my hair lady can't fix though! They were going to send me home yesterday...I know, I think they've lost their minds but once I mentioned I have 4 wonderful but energetic boys at home they told me to take my time. Don't get my wrong...I can't wait to get home and see them but they're not going to understand quite yet how I'm going to be and I don't want to overdo it and end up back in for something senseless.
Today it is snowing like crazy...I think we're suppose to get 7-10 inches or so in Cincinnati. It looks pretty coming down but I think I'll wait one more day to come home since I'm sure the roads will be messy.
Okay I'm rambling but before I wrap it up I have to personally thank our family. All of our parents and siblings (Dan's side and mine) have been helping us out with the boys so Dan can be with me and that has made this process go even more smoothly. Thank you all so much and I love you all more than you'll ever know.
I'm signing off for now and I thank you all for following this journey and allowing us to share it with you. It means more than you'll ever know.
Love to you all and God Bless (He is the real hero here),
Jen :-)

It’s nice to see you’re back (not your backside, please close that gown). I was reading some of your responses to the updates and you literally have people all “acrossed” (that one’s for dad) the world pulling and praying for you. It won’t be long until you are home and back in the swing of things. I was just about to put in a load of darks too, but they can wait until you get home. We’ll call it “physical therapy”. Please hurry though, a couple of items in that load I am planning to wear this week to M2M+D (Mom2Mom plus Dan). I’ll see you later today.

It's so good to hear from you Jen!! I can imagine that you are anxious to get home but I am glad to hear that you can get an extra day or so of rest. If there is anyone who deserves it, it's definitely you girl!! You look and sound absolutely amazing. God is good! I will be bringing dinner over to you guys on Wednesday and can't wait to give you a hug. (I'm sure you'll be exceeding your daily requirement of 8!!)
ReplyDeleteTill then,
Tracey W.
Jen -- it's great to see you back!!! You're right, God is the hero in this and I think he will continue to bless you with a great recovery. I just wanted you to know that we are still praying and will pray that the boys will understand why mom can't come home yet and will be patient with you when you do get home. I think you're smart to take your time. We love you and will (hopefully) be able to see you around Easter. Love, Laura
ReplyDeleteJenny!!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! So good to have you back on the blog although I must admit Dan has quite a humorous streak in him. Thank you guys for all the updates thoughout this entire process. You are both a blessing to all of us with your faith and wonderful attitudes. Still praying for your quick, full recovery! Love, LuAnne
Jen,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear from you, and to hear that you are doing so well. Not that your husband hasn't done a good job keeping everyone up to date. He has gone from making me cry, to cracking me up the last couple days with that humor. Anyway, you look great even with that a lovely bandage on. I agree - take your time as far as going home- There's nothing relaxing about a house full of boys, I can certainly agree with you on that! When you do get home though, let me know what I can do for you. I would love to help you with anything! I can make you guys a meal or just a dessert, or I can run errands for you. Whatever! Just let me know. I am available! Talk to you soon. Love Christine Herring
Jen - It is so great to see a post from you!! Although Dan was doing a great job - I didn't realize how much I would laugh during your recovery. Does that come across the right way? I hope he has a safe trip to Cincinnati. And, when you are back to 100%, he can go on a comedy tour with Joanne. Yesterday, your dad said they were thinking of sending you home and the mention of four boys brought that to a stop. We all love our kids, but sometimes we need just a little break to take care of ourselves. You keep doing that, and we'll keep Dan away from the washer. Have a fabulous day, enjoy the snow falling and rest, rest, rest!!! Can't wait to give you a big hug! Lisa
ReplyDeleteJen, Good to see you back, love Dan, but just to see those words of you being back, felt so good! You sound like you are doing great. And you are right, an extra day is probably best. I wanted to come and see you, but the kids are here today along with about 6-8 inches of snow! So I will just have to see you later. Take care and get lots of rest.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Amy
Dan is coming to mom2mom - that would be great! Don't know that he can stand in for your smile - but his humor I am sure would make us smile. You have both handled this amazingly. I am so impressed and can only hope that I could handle something of this magnitude half the way you two have. We are still praying and will continue to as long as you need us. God Bless and enjoy your peace and quiet. No need to rush home in a snow storm. Kim
ReplyDeleteJen so glad to hear from you but I do have to say that your husband has some sense of humor! While I have never met him I can definitely see how you two mesh so well :) Oh and Dan you can come to M2M anytime! :) We love you Jen and you take care of yourself. You have to come back to Mom2Mom and moms night out soon :) But it sounds like your going to be busy with the laundry from what Dan says, lol. Can't wait to give you a hug :)

Jen,
ReplyDeleteWow, you sound and look amazing. I can't wait to see you when you get home and give you a great big HUG! I think your head wrap looks a little "Rock Star-ish" with your hair teased you could really rock that look. -- mix it up a bit! lol
Keep on taking gret care of yourself and get all the rest you can, while you can. There's going to be lots of excitement at your house once you come home, I'm sure the boys are missing the glue that holds your family together... YOU!!
Hugs, Jenn
Dan, You've done a wonderful job keeping us in the loop, and entertained along the way too!! Much better than I think Shawn would have done, for starters everything would have been TYPED IN CAPS, LIKE HE'S YELLING AT EVERONE... much easier than hitting the shift key from time to time! lol
Jenny, I am so glad to see how well you are doing. It is wonderful to see that beautiful contagious smile of yours. Your strength, courage and faith inspires me. Dan, you did a great job filling in with the posts :) If there is anything that we can help with just let us know, anything! Love you guys. God is great! Stephany
ReplyDeleteJen - so glad to hear from you! We haven't officially met, but I'm the M2M member that moved to England a year and 1/2 ago. I'll be home this April for a couple days and I plan to personally meet you - if your avaiable :-) I've loved following your story. I've shared it with all my friends & family, & even on my blogs and they are all loving it too. You & Dan rock, thank you for sharing this part of your life with us all. It is truly a blessing others. Take your time recovering and brace yourself for powerful hugs...them M2M members can really squeeze ya! :-)
ReplyDeleteDan - hope we hear from you again - you should start a blog. Your humor is great! My husband used to say the same thing about being a member of M2M. He used to run errands for us, help us with card sales, and all sorts of things. So he says, "Right on, glad to see someone took his place."
God Bless you both.
Tonya
So glad to hear you're doing well!!! Can't wait to see you back at m2m... i agree with the others, you're husband is quite funny!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the positive attitude!
Shannon
I am so happy to see you are back on your blog(though Dan was doing a great job standing in for you :-)). I want you to know that you are an amazing woman and your attitude towards everything you have been through is amazingg! You are such an inspiration and I feel very blessed that god has brought you into my life! Now go get some rest and don't hurry home too fast(it's cold out there)!
ReplyDeleteSending warm thoughts, hugs and love your way!

Jen: Janet wants to add a comment but after reading all of the previous ones she forgot what she wanted to say. So as always, the impatient school administrator took over the key pad and started writing. So glad to see and hear of your progress. We knew this would be the case. Strong people always seem to come through in tough times. I did want to comment on the first picture with the gown open like it was.....Wow! haven't seen anything like that in a long time! We love you a bunch. Janet is eager to see you and will be like a pesky mosquito. (again one of her strange sayings)
ReplyDeleteHi, Jen
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing women!:) Look at you all smiles in your pictures. You are so up lifting. It amazing that you can have brain surgery and go home so fast after word. Just don't over do it when you get home. It was really nice reading what Dan had to say. He did a great job!!!!!!! You and your family are in you thought and prayers.
Lori and Neil Kelly
So glad you're doing well, Jen!! Enjoy being pampered and waited on by the nursing staff...that won't last long! I'm sure your boys miss you, but I think I'd stay awhile too, if it were up to me. I can't wait to see you in person with your awesome new hairdo and big ol' smile!! I have a feeling we'll be running into one another at the McD's playland AGAIN before all this snow melts. Take care of yourself and don't get sucked into that whole laundry is your "physical therapy" bit! Ashley
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see your smiling face Jen--you look amazing considering such a big surgery. Miss Reese was definitely concerned when she saw your picture and said "Boo-Boo" and pointed to your sweet bandages. You'll have to print this blog journey someday-and make it into a book. I've also cried and laughed following it...such inspiring authors. Thanks for letting us share this with your family-thinking about you all!! Love, The Hoovers
